When a reporter referred to Zendaya as his “girlfriend” at a recent press appearance, Tom Holland quickly corrected them — with a polite, firm reminder: “Fiancée.”

A clip shared on X shows Holland onstage when a journalist says, “I brought my daughter, and she got to meet your girlfriend.” Holland laughs at first, then interjects with the one-word correction, underscoring the couple’s changed relationship status.

The brief exchange is one of the few times Holland has publicly acknowledged his engagement to Zendaya this year. She first ignited proposal rumors when she appeared at the January 2025 Golden Globes wearing a conspicuous diamond on her ring finger; reports indicate Holland proposed over the 2024 holiday season.

Despite keeping most engagement and wedding details private, Holland frequently speaks fondly of the Emmy winner. He recalled their playful dynamic during an appearance on Lip Sync Battle in 2017, telling how their original plan to “take it easy” turned into an over-the-top performance.

Holland has also explained why he often skips red carpets with Zendaya. In a January 2025 interview with Men’s Health he said attending alone lets the event remain “her moment” rather than making it about the pair.
