Blue Ivy Carter has become a familiar presence on stage alongside her mother, joining Beyoncé nightly during the Cowboy Carter Tour. Her poise and performance ability have prompted questions about whether she might pursue her own music career.

In an interview published by People on , Tina Knowles praised her granddaughter’s breadth of talent. She noted that Blue paints, writes poetry and excels at whatever she sets out to do — a versatility that could easily translate to music.

Knowles suggested that while music is something Blue could handle admirably, it may not necessarily be the avenue she chooses. In her words, Blue “can do so many things,” but the designer stopped short of declaring music to be the teenager’s chief passion.

Blue already has notable musical credentials: she was featured on Beyoncé’s track “Blue” in 2014 and, in 2021, became one of the youngest Grammy winners for her appearance in the “Brown Skin Girl” video. Those accomplishments demonstrate both early exposure and industry recognition should she decide to record professionally.

Beyond singing, Blue has branched into acting and dance. She voiced Kiara in the 2024 film Mufasa and has impressed audiences with her choreography while performing on Beyoncé’s tours — most recently joining the Cowboy Carter set each night and previously appearing on the Renaissance Tour in 2023.

According to Tina Knowles, Blue’s progress reflects discipline and enthusiasm. The proud grandmother emphasized how much work Blue put in to prepare for live appearances and described watching her grow into the spotlight as a source of pride.

Whether Blue ultimately releases her own music remains uncertain, but her range of skills and early successes give her many paths to consider — from recording and performance to visual art and writing.
