Hollywood director Tim Burton and Italian actress Monica Bellucci have announced they are ending their relationship after two years together. The pair made the news public by issuing a joint statement to AFP.
“We have chosen to part ways with deep respect and mutual affection,” the statement read.
The couple had been seeing each other since March 2023 and often spoke warmly of one another in interviews, openly declaring their love. To outsiders their partnership appeared balanced and content. The precise reasons for the breakup have not been revealed; the decision is reported to have been mutual.
Bellucci was previously married to French actor Vincent Cassel, while Burton was formerly married to English actress Helena Bonham Carter.
