Theropods launches on August 20 with a wordless prehistoric adventure
Lost Token and publisher Dionous Games will release Theropods on PC on August 20, 2026. The hand-drawn point-and-click adventure will be available through Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store.
The story follows a young hunter trying to free her tribe from barbarians. Her path crosses with a stranded space traveler whose escape pod is broken, sending the unlikely pair through a prehistoric world filled with dinosaurs and unfamiliar technology.
Theropods tells its story without dialogue, subtitles or written clues. Players must observe creature behavior, experiment with objects, distract predators and solve problems through visual logic instead of direct combat.
The project began as a Flash game made for a 2015 game jam. After a successful Kickstarter campaign, the team spent six years expanding it into a full adventure. Characters, dinosaurs and environments were animated frame by frame before being colored and converted into pixel art.
The menus and interface support 103 languages. The soundtrack combines tribal rhythms with science-fiction synthesizers.
