The Witcher 3 Reaches Record Player Count as Game Director Promises Surprises
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered reached a peak of over 137,000 concurrent players on Steam, and Sebastian Kalemba, the director of the next installment, stated that the franchise has many new developments ahead.
The updated version of The Witcher 3 delivered a strong performance, considering the original game was released more than a decade ago. The Witcher IV game director Kalemba noted that he is glad to see sustained interest in the series.
I am so glad to see The Witcher still getting so much love from players 11 years after its release… and there are so many wonderful things waiting for us in the coming years related to this amazing universe!

The director’s remarks are particularly notable given CD Projekt RED’s current plans. Next year, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is scheduled to receive a third expansion, and The Witcher IV is expected in 2028 to launch a new chapter in the main saga.
If these plans come to fruition, fans could receive three major projects set in Andrzej Sapkowski’s universe within a span of three years.
