The Warehouse Project Announces 20th Anniversary Celebration Featuring Film, Art, Music, and More: ‘So Proud’

Two Decades of Sound: The Warehouse Project Marks 20th Anniversary with Massive Celebrations

Manchester’s legendary nightlife bastion, The Warehouse Project, is preparing to honor two decades of cultural dominance. To mark its 20th anniversary, the institution has unveiled an expansive schedule of special events and creative milestones, alongside the official launch of its highly anticipated 2026 season this September.

At the heart of the jubilee is Twenty Years In Manchester, an intimate, six-minute documentary directed by Leigh Powis. Utilizing rare, vintage Kodak Ektachrome film stock, the project blends archival footage with contemporary interviews to chart the evolution of the UK’s dance music landscape through the eyes of those who shaped it. The film premieres widely this Thursday, May 29, with Apple Music subscribers receiving an exclusive 48-hour early viewing window.

The celebrations extend beyond the dance floor. This July, the iconic Spinningfields boulevard will host an outdoor art installation, complemented by a dedicated podcast series and a limited-edition print magazine that deep-dives into the club’s profound influence on Manchester’s vibrant creative identity. Additionally, a celebratory compilation album is slated for release via the club’s own imprint, WHP Records.

Looking ahead, the 2026 season kicks off on September 18 at Depot Mayfield, featuring a headline set from Dutch visionary Ki/Ki. The autumn and winter calendar is packed with heavy-hitters including Solomun, Duke Dumont, Overmono, Hannah Laing, and Interplanetary Criminal. Most notably, the season will feature Tiësto’s first Manchester appearance in over a decade. Fans can also look forward to an exclusive series of sets streamed live through the newly inaugurated Apple Music Club.

“Reaching the 20-year milestone is a transformative moment for us,” say founders Sam Kandel and Richard McGinnis. “The Warehouse Project has always been defined by its forward momentum. Since our opening night with Public Enemy at Boddingtons Brewery, we have remained committed to adapting alongside the shifting tides of music and culture. We are incredibly proud to remain a cornerstone of Manchester’s heartbeat.”

Since its inception in 2006, The Warehouse Project has become a global benchmark for raw, industrial clubbing. Its stages have hosted legendary acts—from Aphex Twin and Fred again.. to Skrillex and Nile Rodgers—and the brand has successfully exported its distinct, high-energy ethos to major international stages across Melbourne, Sydney, Rotterdam, and Mumbai.
