‘The Voice’ Final Five Contestants Are Revealed

‘The Voice’ Final Five Contestants Are Revealed

And then there were five.

Tuesday night’s elimination episode of NBC’s The Voice had action and drama aplenty, as the final nine contestants were pared back to just five and reigning champ Blake Shelton emerged with the slightest of edges.

It was an especially tough night for Kelly Clarkson, who saw two of her wards slip at the semi-final stage.

First, the survivors. Team Legend singer Victor Solomon got the green light with his version of Tamela Mann’s “I Can Only Imagine”; Team Clarkson’s Kenzi Wheeler advanced following his performance of George Jones’ “He Stopped Loving Her Today”; Team Jonas’ Rachel Mac got through with a cover of Christina Perri’s “Human”; and Team Shelton’s Cam Anthony continues in the contest following his rendition of Boyz II Men’s “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday”.

That left five performers and just one place in the finale.

Pia Renee (Legend), Gihanna Zoë (Clarkson), Corey Ward (Clarkson), Dana Monique (Jonas) and Jordan Matthew Young (Shelton) went head-to-head for the last Instant Save. Sadly, there could be only one, and that was Young.

For those counting at home, Legend, Jonas and Clarkson each have one finalist, while Shelton has two.

The singers will need to be at the top of their game when the Top 5 perform live during next Monday’s finale.
