BTS’ “Butter” debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 this week, marking the K-pop group’s fourth No. 1 on the tally in just nine months. That represents the fastest accrual of four No. 1 hits for any artist on the chart since Justin Timberlake in 2007, and the quickest for a group since the Jackson 5 in 1970. They are also the first group to score three Hot 100 No. 1 debuts; no other group has more than one.
“Butter” racked up 32.2 million U.S. streams and sold 242,800 downloads in the week ending May 27 and drew 18.1 million radio airplay audience impressions in the week ending May 30, according to MRC Data. The track also posted a record-breaking debut on both the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global Exc. U.S. tallies.
