Sony has posted an replace relating to PS5 backward compatibility, stating the vast majority of PS4 titles can be playable on the brand new system.
According to Sony, the group behind PS5 has made “significant efforts” to allow PS4 customers to play their favourite games on the upcoming console.
The firm mentioned the “overwhelming majority of the 4,000 plus PS4 titles will be playable” on the console.
“We’re expecting backward compatible titles will run at a boosted frequency on PS5 so that they can benefit from higher or more stable frame rates and potentially higher resolutions,” reads the post on the PS Blog.
“We’re currently evaluating games on a title-by-title basis to spot any issues that need adjustment from the original software developers.”
Earlier this week, Mark Cerny stated in his PS5 presentation the 100 most-played PS4 titles could be backward appropriate. Sony has already examined tons of of titles and are “preparing to test thousands more” because it strikes towards launch.
PS5 is slated for launch vacation 2020.
