The Offspring returns to No. 1 on Billboard‘s Mainstream Rock Airplay for the first time since 2015, as “Let the Bad Times Roll” rules the ranking dated May 22.
“Roll” is the band’s third No. 1 on the chart, following “Coming For You” for a week in 2015, and “Gone Away” for two weeks in 1997. As the group did not release another charting single between “Coming” and “Roll,” its latest leader marks the first time that The Offspring has strung together two straight No. 1s.
The Offspring boasts 15 Mainstream Rock Airplay top 10s.
On Alternative Airplay, where “Roll” rises 21-18, the Dexter Holland-led outfit has notched three No. 1s among 17 top 10s. On the all-rock-format, audience-based Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, “Roll” lifts 6-5 with 4.2 million audience impressions, up 14%, according to MRC Data. It’s the band’s first top five on the chart since 2012’s No. 4-peaking “Days Go By.”
“Roll” is the title-track lead single from The Offspring’s 10th studio album. Its first full-length since 2012, the set debuted at No. 1 on the Alternative Albums tally dated May 1 and has earned 49,000 equivalent album units to date.
