The Matrix Awakens: 10 min of gameplay under Unreal Engine 5, it's technically mind-boggling!

As expected and teased for a few days, it was during the Game Awards 2021 ceremony that The Matrix Awakens was revealed, with a big 10-minute presentation in which we can see the all power of Unreal Engine 5, the engine which should allow developers to finally offer next-gen graphics. The idea behind this video from The Matrix Awakens is to prove that we have reached a level of realism in modeling so that we cannot realize the difference between a human being and his alter ego in 3D. It is true that it is difficult to detect the real Keanu Reeves from the fake in the first place, but we manage to tell the difference later, which will not prevent us from seeing that the 3D rendering is impressive in its realism. Keanu Reeves is later joined by Carrie-Ann Moss, also in her virtual avatar version, before moving on to the actual gameplay.

The first phase is a shooting phase that is certainly very scripted, but with a fairly stunning photo-realistic rendering, especially since the epic staging takes part in the show. We must eliminate the various agents who pursued the player and Carrie-Ann Moss who is driving on a highway in Los Angeles. Then, we realize that it is possible to evolve in the city, on foot or or driving a vehicle that it is possible to steal as in any episode of GTA. Here too, the rendering impresses with the grandeur of the environments, and the quality of the textures and the modeling of the surrounding characters. For those who want to experience it for themselves, know that The Matrix Awakens demo is available for download on PS5 and Xbox Series X | S now.
