New York medical examiners have officially released the cause of death for actor Peter Greene, most famous for his iconic role as the antagonist in the fantasy-comedy “The Mask.” While news of Greene’s passing first emerged in December, the specific details surrounding the tragedy have only recently been disclosed. It has been determined that the actor died from a fatal gunshot wound to the chest, which appears to have been caused by an accidental discharge from his own firearm.

In a tragic turn of events, the actor reportedly failed to seek medical attention after the incident, ultimately succumbing to severe blood loss.

Greene’s body was discovered in his Manhattan apartment in mid-December. The grim find occurred after neighbors expressed concern, noting that Christmas music had been playing loudly and continuously from his residence for several days.

Throughout his prolific career, Peter Greene appeared in numerous cinematic landmarks, including Quentin Tarantino’s cult classic “Pulp Fiction.” His final contribution to the screen was in “The Continental,” the prequel miniseries set within the John Wick universe.
