The Kid LAROi and Justin Bieber are at it again. The Australian sensation confirmed on Wednesday (June 30) that his rumored new single with JB, “Stay,” is coming soon. And while “#StayIsComing” was as far as he went, Justin retweeted that message, along with a link to pre-save the track. At press time spokespeople for both men had not responded to requests for additional information about the release date, but earlier this week The Kid posted an Insta photo from a basketball game in which he’s cheekily holding up a sign that reads: “Stay July 9?”
The latter post got some enthusiastic support from Charlie Puth, who responded, “Yessssssssss,” while manager Scooter Braun — who oversees both singer’s careers — pulled up with eight fire emoji. The song would be the first new music from Bieber since he released his Justice album earlier this year, which, of course, featured a track with Laroi, “Unstable.”
LAROi’s “Without You” recently set a record in his home country, when it hit a 14th non-consecutive week at No. 1 on Australia’s radio airplay chart, wrecking the 13-week record set by Bernard Fanning with 2005’s “Wish You Well.” While Bieber has been running the charts with various mixes of his hit “Peaches,” LAROi’s been teasing a new project, F*ck Love 3, which he says will drop sometime in July. In a series of pics posted on June 13, the 17 year-old rapper/singer teased, “JULY! THE WAIT IS OVER. #FUCKLOV3.”
No additional information was available on the project at press time, but the message was accompanied by a series of snaps of LAROi in the studio working with producers including a shirtless Kid leaning in to a laptop alongside Grammy nominee and frequent collaborator Khaled Rohaim (Rihanna, Ariana Grande), as well as another pic of him chilling in the grass strumming an electric guitar. On June 1, the rapper announced, “Today… We start album mode… brb.”
