In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Jimi Hendrix Experience’s 1968 album Electric Ladyland, Legacy will likely be releasing a field set. The Deluxe Edition is obtainable November 9 as both a 3xCD or 6xLP set. Electric Ladyland was remastered by Bernie Grundman, who did an analog direct to disc vinyl switch of the unique LP, in addition to a brand new 5.1 encompass sound mixture of the unique album by Hendrix’s unique engineer Eddie Kramer. The field set contains Electric Ladyland: The Early Takes with demos, studio outtakes, and extra. It additionally contains the 1997 documentary At Last… The Beginning: The Making of Electric Ladyland on Blu-ray and the unreleased dwell recording Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live on the Hollywood Bowl 9/14/68. The 50th anniversary reissue arrives with a 48-page e book that includes Jimi’s handwritten lyrics, poem, and directions to his file label Reprise, beforehand unpublished pictures from studio classes by Kramer, and extra. The Deluxe Edition comes with new cowl artwork that contains a photograph of the band at New York City’s Alice in Wonderland statue by Linda McCartney—Hendrix’s private selection for the album artwork.
Electric Ladyland was Hendrix’s final studio album. It included the long-lasting tracks “Voodoo Child,” their cowl of Bob Dylan’s “All Along the Watchtower,” “Crosstown Traffic,” and others. It was the one Hendrix LP to succeed in No. 1 on the Billboard chart.
