In January, the Fall’s Mark E. Smith died following a battle with lung and kidney cancer. In honor of the post-punk legend, road artist Aske P19 has began work on a mural within the band’s hometown of Prestwich, Greater Manchester. According to the artist, it’s based mostly on {a photograph} of Smith taken by Alex Whitton. The mural goes up forward of the Prestwich Arts Festival, which is going on September 29 and 30. See the mural’s beginnings beneath.
