“The Crowd Is Your King”: Taylor Swift Unveils “The Life of a Showgirl” Vinyl — Exclusive to One Store
Taylor Swift Reveals Target-Exclusive Vinyl for The Life of a Showgirl
Published Sept. 24

Taylor Swift has revealed a Target-exclusive pressing of her forthcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl, releasing a limited-edition variant titled The Life of a Showgirl: The Crowd Is Your King. Announced on Instagram on Sept. 24, the Target edition includes a “summertime spritz pink shimmer” vinyl, a collectible sleeve, a large double-sided poster, an exclusive poem written by Swift and a selection of special photos.
Priced at $34.99, the Target release also features its own bespoke cover artwork: a gold-tinged portrait of Swift, styled in sparkling lingerie and feathers, captured from a low angle for a dramatic effect.
“A showgirl knows to save some of her best tricks for the grand finale… PS: we’re [nine] days away(!!!!!!!!!!!!)” — Taylor Swift, Instagram (Sept. 24)
This Target variant follows several previous vinyl editions Swift has issued for the Showgirl era, as well as Target-exclusive CD releases that included unique double-sided posters. Many of those limited-press runs sold through in short windows on Swift’s official store, with certain vinyl variants available for only 48 hours.
In a recent Instagram video shared by Taylor Nation, Swift explained her motivation for offering so many different physical editions: she said the Mert and Marcus photoshoot produced an abundance of striking images and she wanted fans to be able to collect as many facets of the album era as possible. She also described spending a lot of time on packaging and presentation to deliver the best vinyl and CD experience for listeners.

The Life of a Showgirl arrives Oct. 3 and will be Swift’s first new album since her 2024 Billboard 200 chart-topper, The Tortured Poets Department, which spent 17 weeks at No. 1. Swift first announced the new LP on the New Heights podcast hosted by Travis and Jason Kelce, revealing that she wrote all 12 songs on the record with producers Max Martin and Shellback while on the road during the Eras Tour.
Speaking about the record, Swift described it as more upbeat and buoyant — a collection of catchy pop melodies meant to ignite excitement. She called the sessions with Martin and Shellback extraordinary, noting that the trio worked exclusively together for this album and that the process felt like “catching lightning in a bottle.”
Target’s exclusive edition is now listed for pre-order at $34.99; check Target’s website for availability and specific release details.
