“The Conjuring: The Final Rite” has officially become the most commercially successful horror film of 2025. The movie’s total box office takings have climbed past $400 million. Close behind is Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners,” which has grossed $366 million, while “Final Destination: Blood Ties” sits in third with $313 million.
It’s worth noting that critics were generally less enthusiastic about the new Conjuring — on the widely used aggregator Rotten Tomatoes the film holds just a 59% score.
Director Mike Chavez described the fourth installment as the “conclusion” of the franchise. Still, the strong box office performance suggests a sequel may be on the table. Clearly, audiences remain eager for new projects set in James Wan’s universe.
