Alice Walker’s The Color Purple was tailored right into a Broadway musical in 2005. Now, that musical will make the bounce to the massive display screen, based on the Hollywood Reporter. Steven Spielberg—who directed the Oscar-nominated 1985 movie adaptation of the novel—is returning to provide the brand new film musical. Also signed on to provide are Oprah Winfrey (who made her performing debut within the unique movie) and Quincy Jones, who produced and composed the unique soundtrack.
