Tel Aviv to Host 2019 Eurovision Contest

The Eurovision Song Contest has introduced that subsequent 12 months’s competitors will likely be held in Tel Aviv. Thursday’s (Sept. 13)  announcement cleared up among the controversy surrounding Israel’s internet hosting of the 2019 competitors. The authorities initially insisted on holding the favored occasion in Jerusalem. But following a backlash over the U.S. recognition of Jerusalem as its capital and a subsequent concern of boycotts it dropped the demand.

The Eurovision says it selected Tel Aviv, Israel’s cultural and industrial capital, due to its “creative and compelling bid.”

Israel received the Eurovision this 12 months with a flashy pop tune known as “Toy” by the charismatic, beforehand unknown singer Netta Barzilai, who dazzled viewers together with her feminist lyrics, unconventional look and signature hen dance. Her victory earned Israel the precise to host subsequent 12 months’s contest.
