Taylor Swift Shows Off ‘Renegade’ Photo by Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds’ Daughter James

Taylor Swift is giving props to budding photographer James Reynolds, the 6-year-old daughter of the superstar singer’s friends Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.

On Thursday (July 1), the day before releasing “Renegade,” her new collaboration with Justin Vernon and Aaron Dessner’s indie-folk group Big Red Machine, Swift shared an artistic collage on Twitter featuring a photo of the pop star by Reynolds.

“You wouldn’t be the first renegade to need somebody,” Swift captioned the image, crediting Reynolds for the picture and Graham Tolbert for the collage.

In Reynolds’ snapshot, Swift stands amid a bright blue sky while wearing a white patterned dress and holding a small colorful cloth. The collage also features a publicity photo of Big Red Machine, along with images of water droplets and red roses. Lyrics from “Renegade” — “I tapped on the window on your darkest night” and “The shape of you” — also appear in the artwork.

This isn’t the first time the trio has teamed up. Dessner co-wrote and co-produced the bulk of Swift’s blockbuster 2020 albums Folklore and Evermore, and Vernon was featured on and co-wrote Folklore‘s “Exile” and Evermore‘s title track.

This time around, Swift is playing in the duo’s sandbox, joining Big Red Machine for one of three songs released this week from the band’s second full-length album, How Long Do You Think It’s Gonna Last? The new set is scheduled for release on Aug. 27 through Jagjaguwar/37d03d.

Swift gushed about re-teaming with the pair in a tweet celebrating the song’s release early Friday morning. “When @Aaron_Dessner came into my life, I was ushered into his world of free-flowing creativity where you don’t overthink, you just make music. A song we wrote for his project @BRMadjv (which also features Justin Vernon) is out! It’s called ‘Renegade,'” she wrote.
