You need to calm down after this latest news, Swifties! Taylor Swift has at last signed up for TikTok, and in her first post, made Monday (Aug. 23), the pop superstar announced not only that she had joined the social media platform, but that her new version of Red will also be coming in vinyl, available for presale now on her website.
“Lots going on at the moment: Red (my version) vinyl is up for presale on my site and oh I’m on tiktok now let the games begin,” she wrote, adding a smiley cat emoji and the hashtag #SwiftTok.
As with the Red (Taylor’s Version) release, the vinyl is set to arrive. Nov. 19.
Accompanying her vinyl announcement was her first TikTok video. In the brief clip, the 11-time Grammy winner lip-synchs the lyrics to rapper Dave’s “Screwface Capital,” which namedrop her. “Six figure discussions, dinners in public/ My linen all tailored/ My outstanding payments swift like Taylor/ Boy I owe them men a beatin’,” she mouths.
During the video, the singer-songwriter also cycles through the various looks of her Taylor’s Version eras, from Folklore to the upcoming Red.
Swift announced in June that her next re-recorded album would be 2012’s Red, which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 the year of its release and remained on the chart for a whopping 171 weeks. She later unveiled the tracklist Aug. 6. Her new version of the release will include collaborations with Ed Sheeran, Phoebe Bridgers and Chris Stapleton.
