Taylor Swift Announces ‘Life of a Showgirl’ Release Date, Album Cover and Tracklist Featuring Sabrina Carpenter

On Wednesday, August 13, Taylor Swift enthralled fans worldwide by finally unveiling her upcoming twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, following a series of tantalizing teasers.

Due October 3, the LP features a standout title-track duet with Sabrina Carpenter, who previously opened Swift’s Eras Tour. Production duties rest solely with Max Martin and Shellback, the powerhouse duo behind Swift’s defining 1989 and Reputation hits.

The album cover presents Swift draped in iridescent netting, her gaze intense and assured. The full track list opens with “The Fate of Ophelia,” and continues with “Elizabeth Taylor,” “Opalite,” “Father Figure,” “Cancelled!” among other evocative titles.

“And, baby, that’s show business for you,” Swift teased in her Instagram announcement.

The reveal synchronized with the finale of a countdown on her official website and her surprise guest appearance on boyfriend Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast. On August 11, the Kelce brothers first hinted at Swift’s involvement by posting a silhouette cloaked in glittering orange.

At 12:12 a.m. ET on August 12, Swift confirmed her New Heights cameo in a teaser clip, brandishing a blurred album cover as Kelce beamed beside her. “This is my brand-new album, The Life of a Showgirl,” she declared.

The Life of a Showgirl follows 2024’s The Tortured Poets Department, which reigned atop the Billboard 200 for 17 consecutive weeks.
