Wedding bells rang out as Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce revealed their engagement on Tuesday, August 26.

In a joint Instagram post, the couple unveiled romantic garden portraits: Kelce down on one knee, ring in hand, alongside Swift. Their caption read, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

Although comments were disabled, Swift’s passionate fanbase erupted across social media. One admirer posted, “I AM SO HAPPY FOR MY CLOSE AND PERSONAL FRIEND TAYLOR SWIFT,” over a jubilant GIF. Another highlighted Swift’s whirlwind year—concluding the highest-grossing tour in history, reclaiming ownership of her masters, announcing a new album two weeks ago—and now, this engagement. “I feel like a proud mother!” they wrote.

Several major brands also chimed in. The Cleveland Guardians quipped that the announcement overshadowed the release of their next season schedule, while iHeartRadio humorously declared, “Taylor and Travis are ENGAGED—how am I supposed to circle back on an email?”

Swift and Kelce have been romantically linked since 2023, after Kelce admitted his longtime crush on her during his New Heights podcast. Most recently, Swift appeared as a guest on New Heights to unveil her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, arriving October 3.
