After 11 years in development, the long-awaited fantasy strategy has finally received a release date. Independent studio Greenheart Games announced that Tavern Keeper is ready for Early Access, allowing players to run their own taverns.
The project became a prolonged undertaking, but the developers believe the game is prepared for a broad audience. Early Access on Steam is scheduled for November 3, 2025, and the studio has released a new trailer to mark the occasion.
The team admits that work on Tavern Keeper stretched longer than they originally expected. Despite the extended silence, interest has stayed strong — SteamDB figures reflect that — and the Steam demo, which let players sample the game prior to launch, played a major role in sustaining attention.
Tavern Keeper blends economic strategy with role-playing elements inside a tongue-in-cheek fantasy setting. Greenheart Games is also known for creating Game Dev Tycoon, a title close in spirit.
Players will not only serve patrons and expand the menu, but also develop the tavern, manage the balance of income and expenses, and keep both customers and staff content.
