Tate McRae, Gracie Abrams, GloRilla and More Named to TIME100’s “Most Influential Rising Stars” List

TIME published its 2025 “TIME100 Next” roster on September 30, 2025, spotlighting a cross-section of rising talent from pop, Latin and country to hip‑hop and beyond.

The list features pop breakout stars like Tate McRae and Gracie Abrams alongside hip‑hop sensation GloRilla and established Latin acts such as Becky G, Rema and Fuerza Regida. Country names including Lainey Wilson and other boundary-pushing artists also earned places on this year’s selection.

Each honoree is introduced by a short essay from someone who knows or admires them. Billboard’s Audrey Hobert contributed the piece for Gracie Abrams, celebrating her sensitivity and creative partnership with longtime collaborators. Selena Gomez penned a tribute to Becky G; fellow actors and musicians offered encomiums for other cover subjects.

Actress Dakota Johnson — who wrote Tate McRae’s entry — praised McRae’s magnetic presence and anticipated the ways her artistry will continue to shape contemporary pop. Similarly, Ariana Grande wrote about Jonathan Bailey, describing him as endlessly curious about art and life and someone she’s grateful to support.

Beyond music, the TIME100 Next list includes actors, creators, entrepreneurs and activists — a deliberate effort to showcase people poised to expand their influence. Past artists who have appeared on this project include Sabrina Carpenter, SZA and Dua Lipa.

Sam Jacobs, TIME’s editor‑in‑chief, framed the project as an opportunity to recognize those still ascending in their fields, noting that influence often arrives early and that this class exemplifies that tradition.
