Talaka opens closed beta registration ahead of its 2027 launch
Acclaim and Brazilian studio Potato Kid opened registration for the closed beta of Talaka, a hand-painted roguelite based on Afro-Brazilian mythology. The beta registration runs until July 16, 2026.
The closed beta will take place from July 16 to July 30 and includes the first two worlds of the game. Players take the role of a young warrior facing corrupted spirits and celestial creatures, with the Orisha acting as part of the journey.
Talaka is built around fast combat, repeated runs and a painted visual style. The story follows a world where old myths are being forgotten and the legends connected to them begin to turn against people.
The full release is planned for Steam and modern platforms in early 2027, with Acclaim acting as publisher.
