In May, T.I. was arrested and charged with easy assault, public drunkenness, and disorderly conduct. The arrest occurred after he tried to enter the gated group the place he lives with out a key. He and a good friend bought into an argument with a safety guard, who wouldn’t permit them to enter. In a press release issued shortly after the incident, T.I.’s lawyer Steve Sadow called the charges “baseless, ill-founded, and unjustified.”

Now, the assault cost has reportedly been dropped. According to TMZ, T.I. was initially charged with assault after police decided that his remark to the guard, “You’re making it worse for yourself, man … You’re gonna have to deal with me,” was a prison risk. Prosecutors have since allegedly dropped the cost. T.I. reportedly nonetheless faces disorderly conduct and public drunkenness costs. Pitchfork has reached out to representatives for T.I. for additional remark.
