Resident Evil Veronica remake is scheduled for 2027

Capcom announced Resident Evil Veronica in June 2026 and scheduled the survival horror game for 2027. The project is a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica, which first appeared on Dreamcast in 2000. Capcom has shortened the title for the new release and has not given an exact launch date.

The story begins three months after the biological disaster in Raccoon City. Claire Redfield travels to France in search of her brother Chris after surviving the outbreak with Leon S. Kennedy and Sherry Birkin. Umbrella forces capture Claire and take her to Rockfort Island, where another biological incident turns the remote prison site into a new survival zone.

What Capcom has confirmed

Resident Evil Veronica keeps the premise of the original game while rebuilding its presentation and systems for current hardware. Capcom lists modernized gameplay, a reimagined story and more detailed graphics among the main changes. Development uses the company’s RE ENGINE.

The publisher has not disclosed combat details, system requirements, editions or a release month. The Steam page currently lists a general 2027 window and marks its PC requirements as undetermined.

Announcement trailer

The trailer introduces Claire’s search for Chris and the new version of Rockfort Island. Capcom calls the project a remake and says the 2000 story has been reimagined.

Platforms and release window

Resident Evil Veronica is planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. The PC version has a Steam page, but pre-orders and a final release date have not been announced.
