Robert Henrysson took the role only in 2024.
Supermassive Games—the studio behind Until Dawn, The Quarry, The Dark Pictures Anthology, Little Nightmares 3, and Directive 8020—announced a leadership change. Parent company Nordisk Games confirmed that CEO Robert Henrysson is stepping down.
Henrysson joined Nordisk Games as a partner in 2022 before taking charge of Supermassive Games in 2024. His previous experience includes roles as chairman and CEO at Avalanche Studios.
His tenure faced significant challenges. Under his leadership, the studio executed broad staff layoffs and delayed the release of Directive 8020 from 2025 to 2026. The game eventually arrived this May.
Nordisk Games stated that Henrysson overhauled the studio management team and adjusted development strategy. He also oversaw the completion of Directive 8020. The company reported that critics rated this title higher than any previous entry in The Dark Pictures Anthology.
Graham Low will serve as interim studio head while the search for a permanent replacement continues.
