The new 7″ is the third of their restricted version profit singles sequence. The proceeds for this one go to 350.org, Bill McKibben’s climate-change non-profit group. It follows “I Got Cut”/“Up Against the Wall” for Planned Parenthood South Atlantic and “Break the Glass”/”Mad World” for the Southern Poverty Law Center. Earlier this yr, Superchunk launched their new album What a Time to Be Alive.
Mac McCaughan defined why he selected 350.org in an announcement:
The information lately is overwhelming, and generally it’s onerous to give attention to the bigger points we’re all collectively dealing with. Climate change is reworking the world in harmful methods and requires quick motion. The proceeds from the one will go to Bill McKibben’s 350.org, and we stand by them as they construct the worldwide grassroots local weather motion that may maintain our leaders accountable to the realities of science and the rules of justice.
