Since its gameplay was revealed during the State of Play on June 3, 2022, Street Fighter 6 crystallizes a lot of expectations within the versus fighting scene. It must be said that Capcom did things well, presenting us to start with an ultra well-edited, dense trailer that reveals a lot of things. Of course, visually, the game is already enticing, with massive 3D models of the fighters, Ryu and Chun-Li with simply attractive designs, and a chidelled staging that makes each blow ultra impactful. On the gameplay side, Street Fighter 6 will try to seduce novices in the field as well as arcade stick experts through functions allowing you to switch between classic controls and modern controls, which are actually simplified controls.
However, there is one thing that has not been officially revealed, with CP or PlayStation Blog in support, namely the X-Ray attacks (or X-ray in French) that can be seen through a screenshot that Capcom shared to the specialized press. We indeed see Ryu bring an uppercut to Chun-Li in close-up, with an image that has switched to a different colorimetry, as if to support the moment and the effect. Chun-Li’s body then appears under X-rays, revealing his skeleton, which is reminiscent of the X-Ray Attacks of Mortal Kombat X. It remains to be seen when and to what extent it will be possible to execute such an attack. Unless it is simply an electrified attack from Ryu as he does with his Hadoken, we are not immune to this eventuality indeed… (hehe)
