Stranger Things actor Finn Wolfhard is set to film a biopic about the legendary punk outfit The Replacements. The actor’s father will co-author the screenplay and join the project as a producer.
The story will draw on Bob Mehr’s book Trouble Boys: The True Story of the Replacements, widely regarded as the definitive account of the band’s career.
The picture is expected to follow the group’s arc — from their first gigs in Minneapolis to the large-scale performances that helped redefine alternative rock.
Notably, members of The Replacements embraced a true punk ethos and were known for frequently using profanity onstage and in their songs.
