This week, Nicki Minaj’s new album Queen debuted at No. 2 on the charts, behind Travis Scott’s Astroworld. In a collection of tweets, she accused Travis of artificially inflating his numbers by means of ticket bundles and the steaming service of treating her unfairly. Referring to the streaming service’s promotion of Drake’s Scorpion, she wrote, “Spotify had to teach me a lesson but rewarded the man who has had an Apple radio show the longest; inadvertently helping the Apple platform the most.”

Now, a consultant for Spotify has issued an announcement responding to Nicki’s feedback, as Variety experiences. It reads:

Spotify supported Nicki Minaj with a Times Square billboard, a number of
the biggest playlists, New Music Friday and the brand new music launch
shelf,” the rep stated. “Her music ‘Bed’ really noticed a rise based mostly
on the promotions put behind the marketing campaign. The firm continues to be
huge followers of Nicki.

Pitchfork has reached out to representatives for Spotify and Nicki Minaj for additional remark.
