Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer reveals Hulk while keeping its villain a secret

It has been several months since our initial glimpse of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the highly anticipated successor to 2021’s massive hit, Spider-Man: No Way Home. A fresh trailer for the latest Marvel outing provides a deeper look at Tom Holland’s return as Peter Parker—our friendly, neighborhood, and now largely anonymous, web-slinging hero.

Released this Wednesday, the latest footage pivots toward Peter’s internal turmoil as he grapples with alarming mutations, including sudden organic web-shooters and unsettling, pitch-black eyes. In a desperate bid for answers, he approaches Bruce Banner—now equipped with a suppression device to keep the Hulk in check. However, the trailer teases an inevitable clash between the two, as the Hulk appears to be under the influence of a mysterious new antagonist rumored to be played by Sadie Sink. Amid these mounting pressures, the clip features what sounds like a new voiceover from Aunt May, hinting at a potential return for Marisa Tomei.

This second trailer offers a frantic look at a volatile Spider-Man squaring off against Scorpion, Ned Leeds’ desperate pursuit of the truth regarding Peter’s alter ego, and a high-octane brawl against a clan of Hand ninjas.

The previous look at Brand New Day established a somber tone, presenting a stressed and isolated Peter Parker. Even with his legacy as a NYC protector, he is living in the shadows. Following the reality-altering events of No Way Home, his closest allies—Ned and MJ—no longer remember him, leaving Peter to navigate profound physical and emotional strain. Between the enigmatic threat posed by Sadie Sink’s character and an escalating rogue’s gallery—including Scorpion, Tarantula, and Boomerang—Peter’s life is anything but peaceful.

While Peter’s circumstances are dire, audiences are responding positively to the film’s return to the grounded, relatable struggles that defined the character’s early comic book appearances. Brand New Day appears eager to balance this personal drama with the cinematic, high-stakes action expected of the franchise.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), with a screenplay by franchise veterans Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the film rounds out its cast with newcomers Liza Colón-Zayas and Tramell Tillman.
