Soulshine at Sea 3 Canceled Amid Artist Exodus

Soulshine at Sea 3 Voyage Called Off After Lineup Fallout

Soulshine at Sea 3 has been officially cancelled, according to an announcement posted on the event’s website.

The cruise, slated to sail from Miami to Cozumel, Mexico from November 4–8, 2025, was to feature Michael Franti & Spearhead as its headline act.

Organized by Sixthman under the banner “Soulshine at Sea 3 with Michael Franti,” the outing sold out by mid-December 2024 (see announcement).

Reports of multiple artists withdrawing—including Dispatch, Maggie Rose, Hirie and Liz Vice—over allegations concerning an unnamed performer led to the decision to cancel the voyage.

Official Statement: “In light of recent developments, the Soulshine at Sea 3 event scheduled for November 4–8, 2025 has been cancelled. We are actively planning a new sailing and will share those details soon.”

I’ve decided to withdraw from Soulshine at Sea in solidarity with a fellow artist who shared serious concerns about another performer on the lineup.

— Maggie Rose

We are no longer performing at Soulshine at Sea. In light of disturbing allegations regarding another lineup member, we must stand by our principles.

Hirie and Liz Vice also stepped away for similar reasons.

Earlier this month, singer Victoria Canal publicly accused a “very powerful, decades‐older” music executive of grooming and sexually abusing her when she was 19 (August 11). She omitted his name to avoid the financial and emotional toll of litigation.

Michael Franti issued a personal apology for a “regrettable mistake” involving an extramarital relationship from seven years ago, which he says he ended to preserve his marriage (see post).

Organizers confirmed they’re “actively working to unveil a replacement voyage for November 4–8, 2025,” with further information scheduled for release on August 18.
