Sony Registers Sly Cooper Trademark

Sony has filed a new trademark application for Sly Cooper, which currently applies to merchandise.

Sony has registered a new Sly Cooper trademark. The application focuses primarily on merchandise and does not indicate the development of a new game.

The application was filed on September 11, 2026, and covers posters, graphic novels, comics, writing and art supplies, colored pencils, folders, paintbrushes, modeling clay, food containers, napkins, and party decorations.

The documents do not mention games, movies, or series, so the registration itself does not mean the franchise is returning with a new project. Fans have been waiting years for a sequel, but Sony and Sucker Punch have not yet shared official information about a new installment.

The latest game in the franchise remains Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, which was released in 2013 for the PS3 and PS Vita. It was developed by Sanzaru Games. The last installment created directly by Sucker Punch was Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, a 2005 game for the PlayStation 2.
