Sony Adds Major Games to PS Portal Streaming

Important update for PlayStation Portal owners: the cloud-to-device streaming service’s beta received an update in October.

Sony has added two major titles to the device’s library that can be played without a PS5 console — provided you have an active PlayStation Plus Premium subscription.

The first addition is The Last of Us Part II Remastered. This marks the game’s first official appearance on a Sony handheld. Previously it could only be run on a Steam Deck via the PC version, often with significant performance issues. Sony’s cloud streaming resolves those problems, enabling gameplay without the usual frame-rate drops.

The second addition is WWE 2K25, a title that, for unclear reasons, was not previously available via direct streaming through PS Plus Premium.

Players have welcomed the expanded library but point out that the PS Portal itself has not received a system update. Sony recently rolled out firmware updates for PS4, PS5 and various accessories, yet the portable console remains unchanged.

Reports of connection problems persist, and the cloud streaming feature has remained in beta longer than many expected. Users are hopeful that a full system update for the PS Portal will be released soon.
