Soccer and Anime: Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road Amazes with Its Scale and Huge Cast of Heroes

For years the Inazuma Eleven series has been known as one of the most distinctive sports franchises, blending football, RPG elements, and anime-style presentation. The new entry, Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road, launches on November 13 and will feature not only a completely new storyline but also over 5,200 characters to collect and develop, making it the largest installment in the franchise.

At Tokyo Game Show 2025, amid a flood of announcements, a fresh trailer could have been easy to miss. The narrative takes place 25 years after the original game’s events. The protagonist, Destin Billows, enrolls at a school where people dream of a world without football. At the same time, a new star — Harper Evans — appears at Raimon Junior High. Their rivalry forms the backbone of the plot, and animations produced by studio MAPPA amplify the drama.

The game will also introduce several significant features. Chronicle Mode lets you replay iconic matches from across the series and recruit beloved players. Commander Mode adds tactical controls for a more strategic experience. Bond Station allows you to build your own town and meet up with friends.
