Skyrim Transformed into Vampire: The Masquerade — New Dev Diary for Remake Mod Released

Following legal pressure from Activision, the modding team reevaluated several of their choices.

Prior to the celebrated Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines, the franchise released another entry subtitled “Redemption.” That title has its own fanbase, and some enthusiasts attempted to create a remake built on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

In 2024, the Galejro modders ran into trouble: although Paradox Interactive holds the World of Darkness rights and had approved the fan project, Activision — the original publisher of VTM Redemption — raised legal objections, and the effort appeared to be halted.

However, in 2025 the creators published a new development diary. The project was renamed and now goes by Vampire the Masquerade Reawakened — described as a reimagining of the original game’s events that excludes Activision-owned content.

Vampire the Masquerade Reawakened is scheduled for release in 2026.
