Sharon Osbourne Speaks Out After Ozzy Osbourne’s Death: “Still Struggling to Find the Words”

Sharon Osbourne says she still finds it difficult to put her feelings into words following the death of her husband, Ozzy Osbourne, earlier this summer.

On Friday, Sept. 12, the 72‑year‑old TV personality and longtime manager of the Black Sabbath frontman made her first public post since his July 22 passing. In an Instagram video filmed at a falconry in Cornwall, England, Sharon and her daughter Kelly share a gentle, consoling moment amid a flock of birds.

Sharon thanked fans for the flood of messages she’s received, saying their kindness has been a significant comfort during sleepless nights. Though she admitted she’s still finding her footing, she wanted to share the uplifting experience she and Kelly enjoyed with the birds.

Describing the encounter, Sharon wrote that the bond between a handler and a raptor rests on trust and mutual confidence: the birds will only land on you if they sense calm and safety. She called the afternoon “magical” and expressed deep appreciation for the support people continue to show her and her family.

The montage shows Sharon and Kelly interacting with a variety of birds: a falcon landing on Sharon’s gloved hand to feed, a white owl settling gracefully on her arm, tender moments of petting, and a playful clip of a bird perching on Kelly’s winter hat. Kelly had shared the same footage a few days earlier, noting she introduced her mother to falconry and that Sharon loved the experience.

This Instagram message is Sharon’s first extended public response since Ozzy’s death. Her most recent post prior to this was a photograph taken with Andrew Watt and Slash at Black Sabbath’s farewell performance in early July.

Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22 at age 76, weeks after performing what would be his final live show in Birmingham, England. The family confirmed his passing and asked for privacy as they grieved.
