Sekiro: No Defeat anime series scheduled to premiere in January 2027

The feature film adaptation of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, titled Sekiro: No Defeat, is heading to home screens in an expanded format.

The limited theatrical run of Sekiro: No Defeat in Japan is nearing its end. Although the creators kept home release plans under wraps for a long time, it has now been revealed that the theatrical film is a condensed compilation of an upcoming anime project.

The full version of Sekiro: No Defeat will release as an eight-episode series in January 2027 and will include extra scenes that were cut from the theatrical version. ARCH announced this in a special statement, where the company also apologized for not clarifying the project format beforehand:

Sekiro: No Defeat adapts the story of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice into an anime format. Voice actors from the game have returned to their roles, including Daisuke Namikawa as the Wolf, Miyuki Sato as Kuro, and Kenjiro Tsuda as Genichiro.

Studio Qzil.la is handling production. Kenichi Kutsuna is directing, Takuya Sato is writing the script, Takahiro Kishida is providing character designs, and Takashi Mukoda is serving as action director.

An exact streaming premiere date has not been announced yet.
