See Lady Gaga as Patrizia & an Unrecognizable Jared Leto in New ‘House of Gucci’ Posters

Lady Gaga

Two of the world’s most recognizable musicians get into character in the new posters for Ridley Scott’s highly anticipated film “House of Gucci,” coming out Nov. 24 and starring Lady Gaga and Jared Leto. The movie follows the heinous tale of Patrizia (Gaga’s character), arranging the murder of her husband, Maurizio Gucci, following their divorce. Maurizio, played by Adam Driver, was the head of the Gucci fashion house up until his death.

Five posters were released on a new promotional Twitter account for the film Thursday (July 29), all elegant headshots of each member of the main cast: Gaga, Driver, Leto, Al Pacino and Jeremy Irons. The photo of Leto, guitarist for rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars, is the most surprising, as he is virtually unrecognizable as Paolo Gucci, Maurizio’s cousin and former design chief for the luxury fashion brand. The poster finds him balding and mustachioed, his drooping neck and chin area exaggerated with makeup.

Gaga looks a bit more like herself than Leto in her photo as the wealthy Italian socialite who ended up spending 16 years in prison following her crime. She appears in pointed, glossy lipstick and jewelry made of humongous pearls, dressed in an all-black wardrobe perfect for someone in “mourning.”

Gaga’s photo was the only one with a caption, which was just one word: “stasera.” The word means either “tonight” or “this evening” in Italian. Both Gaga and Leto posted their individual headshots to Instagram, captioning again with the same word.
