Comedian Sebastian Maniscalco has announced some of his first Las Vegas shows in two years.
The LA-based comedian is set to perform 12 nights of at Wynn Las Vegas’ Encore Theater with his Nobody Does This Tour, drawing on his experiences during the pandemic to dissect the lockdown and bring much needed comedic relief to the masses.
Maniscalco returned to touring earlier this year and said since he’s been back, he’s taken up golf and has been more committed to exploring the cities where he performs.
“The shows have been fantastic. Wherever we’ve gone, people seem to be extremely happy to be out and enjoying life again,” Maniscalco tells Billboard. “I’m happy to be putting smiles on people’s faces again, because for 16 months I was inside not doing much just like the rest of the country. “
If there was a silver lining to the whole pandemic, he says it was spending time with my family. “I’ve got two small kids, four and two years old,” he says. “But you know, uh, too much of anything is not good. I like to kind of have balance in my life and now I’m getting back on the road and bringing my family wherever I can.”
Maniscalco stayed busy during the pandemic, taping Well Done With Sebastian Maniscalco for Discover+ with the comedian joined by wife Lana Gomez, and his mother Rose, exploring food culture and etiquette from all the corners of culinary cuisine.
“(Lana) really helped me prepare for a lot of those segments and was an instrumental part of coming up with some of the writing,” he tells Billboard. He says everyone in his family has enjoyed the spotlight “including my father, he seems to be a mini celebrity in his own right. He’s a hairdresser so he’s been doing comedy behind the chair for 50 years.”
He also appeared in Martin Scorsese’s Oscar-nominated The Irishman alongside Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci. He stayed busy during the pandemic hosting several virtual dinners with friend and chef, Dominick DiBartolomeo and special guests including Jerry Seinfeld, Lester Holt, J.J. Watt, Christopher Lloyd and Rick Caruso. The comedian also hosted a two-night run on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and executive produced the release of “Sebastian Maniscalco presents Pat McGann: When’s Mom Gonna Be Home?”
Tickets go on sale Friday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. PT. For more information, visit here.
