Sabrina Carpenter Marks First Anniversary of ‘Short n’ Sweet’ Ahead of ‘Man’s Best Friend’

On the cusp of releasing her new album Man’s Best Friend, Sabrina Carpenter paused to honor the first anniversary of her chart-dominating record Short n’ Sweet. Launched on August 23, 2024, the album commanded the top spot on the Billboard 200 for four straight weeks, buoyed by hit singles “Espresso,” “Please Please Please” and “Taste.”

With Short n’ Sweet, Carpenter not only celebrated her inaugural No. 1 album but also secured her first Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album. The project’s triumph fueled an arena tour across North America and Europe, which reconvenes this October—likely featuring selections from Man’s Best Friend, slated for release on August 29.

On August 23, the pop star took to Instagram to reflect on her milestone, sharing a carousel of behind-the-scenes snapshots, studio sessions, live performances and award-show highlights. “Pausing from MBF to celebrate one year of Short n’ Sweet,” she wrote, commemorating the friendships, passion and electric moments the album inspired.

“This record remains one of my most cherished accomplishments, connecting me with extraordinary collaborators, fans and places,” Carpenter continued. She teased that her seventh studio album—inclusive of the Billboard Hot 100-topping single “Manchild”—arrives in just one week, with a special-edition vinyl featuring an exclusive bonus track.

Expressing gratitude, she added, “Thank you for streaming these songs every day, for singing until your voices gave out, and for embracing every lyric as deeply as I do. Your love and energy mean everything to me.”
