In the newly unveiled music video for “A Little More,” actor Rupert Grint is met with a far more intense version of Ed Sheeran than he anticipated, as the visual accompaniment premiered alongside the single on Thursday, August 7.

In this surreal narrative, the Harry Potter star reprises his role as the singer’s devoted admirer from the 2011 “Lego House” video. After serving time for gatecrashing Sheeran’s concert and impersonating him onstage, his character is released back into the world—but he can’t shake the haunting presence of his idol.

“I used to love you / Now every day I hate you just a little more,” Sheeran laments over the mid-tempo melody, as Grint’s expressions contort with each unexpected cameo of the singer—whether on billboards, streaming screens or broadcast televisions.

The tension escalates when Grint’s character falls for a woman and proposes marriage. At their ceremony, every guest morphs into Sheeran, his gaze unnervingly fixed on the bride and groom. In a chilling moment, Grint lifts his bride’s veil to discover she, too, has transformed into the pop star.

After the video dropped, Sheeran shared on Instagram, “I hadn’t worked with Rupert in 14 years since ‘Lego House,’ so I wasn’t sure he’d embrace this concept—but I’m thrilled he did. It’s wildly imaginative, and Rupert, my brother from another mother, your dedication brought it to life.”

“A Little More” is the latest preview ahead of Sheeran’s upcoming album Play, arriving in September. Fans have already enjoyed singles such as “Azizam,” “Old Phone” and “Sapphire.”

This project marks the inaugural chapter of Sheeran’s next musical series following the close of his Mathematics era, which includes Plus (2012), Multiply (2014), Divide (2017), Equals (2021) and Minus (2023)—all achieving top-five status on the Billboard 200.
