Nexus Point News has revealed who is expected to headline the upcoming reboot of Miami Vice.
Universal’s project reportedly features Glen Powell (Twister 2) and Michael B. Jordan (Creed). Joseph Kosinski, the filmmaker associated with Formula 1, is set to direct. The release is scheduled for August 6, 2027.
The original Miami Vice ran on American television as a series from 1984 to 1989. The story followed two undercover detectives tasked with taking down Miami’s prominent drug traffickers.
In 2006 Michael Mann released a feature adaptation starring Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx. The film failed to recoup its $135 million budget and was met with largely negative reviews.
Powell is due to appear this fall in Edgar Wright’s The Running Man, while Jordan recently led the vampire horror Sinners.
