Rosalía and the Weeknd, as promised, have released their new single “La Fama.” It features a cameo from Danny Trejo and the Weeknd sings in Spanish on the track. Watch the video, directed by Director X, below.

In a statement, translated to English, Rosalía said, “I wanted to write, in my own way, a bachata with a little story around ambition. Taking as a reference the lyrics of Rubén Blades or Patti Smith and the songs of Aventura, I ended up writing a story of romance with fame.”

The new single follows Rosalía’s appearance on a remix of the Weeknd’s hit song “Blinding Lights” last year. “La Fama” will appear on Rosalía’s new album Motomami. While details surrounding the album are currently unknown, she confirmed in an album teaser that it’s set to arrive in 2022. The LP will be the follow-up to her Grammy-winning breakout El Mal Querer from 2018.
