Roger Daltrey of The Who Joins 30th-Anniversary Rock ’n’ Roll Fantasy Camp: ‘I Love It Because It Reminds Me Where I Came From’

Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp is set to celebrate its 30th anniversary in January 2026, welcoming The Who’s legendary frontman, Roger Daltrey, as its marquee guest.

Taking place from January 29 to February 1, 2026, the camp will also feature The Who’s Simon Townshend. Daltrey, who has joined the camp six times, returns after a 15-year hiatus.

“I love it because it reignites the passion of my early days,” Daltrey reflects. “Above all, it’s pure fun!”

“Celebrating three decades of Fantasy Camp with Roger Daltrey is an honor,” says David Fishof, the camp’s founder. “Our mission has always been to inspire musicians and grant fans the thrill of sharing the stage with their idols. Having members of The Who for this milestone makes it truly historic.”

Since its inception in 1996, the camp has merged aspiring musicians at every skill level with rock icons for hands-on mentorship, jam sessions and live performances.

Participants will rehearse and play alongside Daltrey and Townshend before taking the stage for two shows at Miami venues, including The Funky Biscuit.

Rock-star counselors guiding this milestone include Tony Franklin (The Firm), Jimmy Vivino (Conan O’Brien’s bandleader), Gary Hoey, Eva Gardner (P!nk), Joel Hoekstra (Whitesnake), Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath), Derek St. Holmes (Ted Nugent), Joe Vitale (Joe Walsh) and Britt Lightning (Vixen).

In preparation for the 30th anniversary, three camps later this year will spotlight rock royalty: November’s Phoenix camps headlined by Alice Cooper and Judas Priest’s Rob Halford, and a December Miami session featuring Felix Cavaliere (The Rascals), Mark Farner (Grand Funk Railroad), Jason Scheff (Chicago) and Liberty DeVitto (Billy Joel).

Open to musicians of all levels, applicants undergo auditions to ensure placement in suitably challenging bands.

The Who are currently touring North America on The Song Is Over Farewell Tour, wrapping up on September 28, 2025, in Las Vegas.
