ROG Xbox Ally X resold for $2,500 before it hits stores

The Xbox ROG Ally X has not yet hit stores, but resellers are already trying to capitalize on early demand. New eBay listings show the handheld PC selling for between $2,399 and $2,500—well above the official $999.99 price.

YouTuber Spawn Wave drew attention to the marked-up listings on social media, posting a screenshot featuring several sellers. Many are advertised as “new”; some are listed as preorders, while others claim specs such as 24 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. Despite Xbox’s official pricing, these sellers are targeting buyers willing to pay more than double.

The development follows statements from Microsoft and ASUS about strong demand for the premium handheld. Xbox’s official account previously announced that preorders for the ROG Ally X are sold out worldwide, noting: “Demand is genuinely massive! Preorders for the ROG Xbox Ally X are sold out on the Xbox Store globally.”

But outside official channels the picture is more mixed. Players report that preorders remain open in some regions and at certain retailers. That uncertainty has prompted debate over how limited the actual supply really is.

The Xbox ROG Ally X launches on October 16, 2025, positioned as the premium model featuring an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor and a 7-inch FHD 120 Hz display. A more affordable standard Xbox ROG Ally will arrive the same day priced at $599.99.

Given reseller activity and conflicting preorder reports, buyers should be prepared to wait. In the coming weeks it should become clear whether the shortages reflect genuinely constrained stock or are simply the usual hype around a highly anticipated release.
