Ricky Martin Opens Up About Desire For More Kids on ‘Behind the Music’: Exclusive Clip

Are more lullabies in Ricky Martin‘s future? The Latin superstar and dad of four reveals in his updated episode of Behind the Music airing Thursday (July 29) that he’s open to having more children with husband Jwan Yosef, and Billboard has an exclusive first look.

In the clip, the Puerto Rican artist opens up about his beloved family and children. “We’re normalizing what a beautiful, modern family is!” he declares, sharing how special his life has been to be able to enjoy everyday things such as sharing breakfast with his kids, sending them off to school, and more.

The “Que Rico Fuera” singer welcomed twin boys Matteo and Valentino via a surrogate in 2008. Then in 2018, Martin announced that he and Yosef had wed, and daughter Lucia was born at the end of the year. Their fourth child, son Renn, arrived in October 2019.

The clip shows the artist glowing as he spends time with his children, and he practically gushes as he describes each of his kids. With so much love in his heart for his family, it’s no wonder that Martin hasn’t ruled out having more little ones.

“It is challenging, but I would do it all over again,” he shares in Billboard‘s clip. “I still have embryos; I love a big family. And listen, it takes a village. I am in love with my four children.”

In addition to his joyful family life, Martin discusses his career from his days as a teen heartthrob in Menudo, all the way to his current Latin superstar status. His Behind the Music episode will also explore his coming out, as well as his work as a human rights and political activist. The remastered episode will also have the star reflecting on the original episode through today’s eyes, with Bad Bunny making an appearnce to discuss how Martin inspired him and other up-and-coming Latin artists.

The Behind the Music series, which is getting a reboot via Paramount+, premieres Thursday with Martin’s episode, and will include both new episodes as well as remastered and updated legacy episodes.

Upcoming episodes for July through September will feature LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, Duran Duran, New Kids on the Block, and many others. In the second half of the season, Jennifer Lopez will get her own episode, as will many other artists. A premiere date has not yet been announced for the second half.
